St. Valentines Day Pop-Up Shop in Lewisburg, PA

What a privilege and an adventure setting up this sweet little shop in my hometown. Passing by an open storefront earlier this week, I could envision the shop effortlessly. To my delight, the lovely owner of the building agreed. She made up a 2-week lease, and the adventure began.

I traveled the very next morning to the New York Flower Market on 28th Street. I bought blooming plants to bring the space to life, like hellebores, cyclamen, and azalea. For the window in light pinks and reds, cut flowers like parrot tulips and my very favorite flower, sweet pea.

Having beautiful vessels in the shop is important, and special valentines, too. I brought in my Middle Kingdom Porcelain, beautiful footed clear glass vases, and wooden cards from Night Owl Paper Goods.

So far what has been most striking is how my friends and family have come together to make the shop beautiful and special. My sisters pitched in with ideas and marketing designs. Dear friends took the time to help move furniture, design flyers, and speak about the business. My dad built a custom pedestal and assembled furniture, while my mom spent hours potting plants and beautifying the shop.

All of these contributions mean a great deal, and already, new connections are being made in this experience. Many friendly faces from my town are appearing with support, some of whom I have not seen in many years.

I cannot wait to see what will develop over the next week, and hope for a great big order to the San Francisco Flower Market by Wednesday night! But regardless of how many arrangements I do sell, this pop-up shop is a success, and a joyous experience. I can truly feel the love!
